LA Has It // ATL Needs It

After some overdue time spent in the homeland (Los Angeles) last week, I quickly remembered the Southern California things I miss immensely.
While, Atlanta is the best place to be - here is a list of things that will make it just perfect.

How can we get these things from LA to Atlanta?

Local Hands // XK Macarons

Let me preface this by saying - I had never had a macaron...in my life.
When I first learned about XK Macarons I was very intrigued.
I had seen XK Macarons starting to pop up around town and knew I had to try.
I found the opportunity to do so at their launch at Mae's Bakery last week.
I'm in love.

Local Hands // ICE Edition

A new little series starting on the blog is "Local Hands".
There are so many unbelievable artists in Atlanta and it's only right to explore them too.

After attending Indie Craft Experience this past weekend, it was evident that creativity beams from this city.
So, I'd like to feature a few of the vendors.

Victory | Sandwich Bar + Emporium

Victory was a place I'd been wanting to try for some time.
I finally made my way there on Saturday with family in tow.
As expected I was not disappointed one bit.
It happened to be a beautiful, warm day so sitting outside made for a perfect lunch.
I was a newbie to the place and while sitting and enjoying my $4 sandwich I noticed everyone had slushie-type drinks in mason jars.
I later learned these were the infamous jack & coke slushies - first on my list next visit.

Store Spotlight: Kudzu Antiques

I accidentally stumbled upon Kudzu Antiques the other day and it couldn't have been better timing.
I'm on the lookout for good antique finds so my eyes were appropriately peeled.
I fell in love with this place.
Often times in a not so decent to decent antique shop I get bored pretty easily and start to check out.
This never happened at Kudzu. It was one good thing after the next.

The BEST cup of (dessert) espresso in all of the land

To call me an espresso snob would be an understatement.
I lived in Italy for a year and a half - they have the best coffee - blah, blah, blah...
But, really I'm an espresso snob.

Store Spotlight: Paris on Ponce

I had been wanting to make a visit to explore Paris on Ponce for some time.
So while in the area I made sure to stop by.
...and it was a pleasant visit.

IMAGINE THIS:
antique shop - meets - event venue - meets - furniture store.

A Trip to Scott's Antique Market

I had heard about Scott's Antique Market for some time, but had yet to make the trek to South Atlanta to visit.
With a new apartment next month, my eyes were truly peeled for good finds.

Patience is a must at this place as there are many things to filter through and it's quite big, so no grumpiness allowed.

There are 3 parts to Scott's and at first I was pretty confused.

All the single ladies & lads

Often deemed "Singles Awareness Day" Valentine's Day can be a little something for the single one too.
If you are all alone today and will not be spending the evening doing on these things, do not fret.
This may be the answer to your single sorrows tonight (along with a nice bottle of wine).

2 MIN. CHOCOLATE CAKE IN A MUG
(also known as "Single Girl Cake")

It's SUPER easy to make and tastes like a freshly baked cake...just for one.

Here's what you'll need:

Day Trip to Highlands, NC

Last weekend I got to travel to the small, quaint town of Highlands, NC for a wedding.
As a new Southern transplant, I had not been to Highlands and hadn't heard much about it.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited to check it out.

First, I was shocked at how quick the trip was to get there.
Only 2.5 hours and that was door to door.
I'm a road trip lover.
If it were up to me I would hop in the car every weekend.
2.5 hours was nothing.

3 in 1 Farm Burger Review

So I kindly took it upon myself to visit ALL three Farm Burger locations.
(just to make sure they really did taste exactly the same)

...which they do.

I'm always down for a good burger joint and I'd like to say I'm a fairly good judge of burger character.
Each time I have been to Farm Burger I have enjoyed myself.
( a good bar set up for a quick lunch)

Beauty Review: Aveda Institute Atlanta

I was in dire need of some change and update with my hair.
My sister came home the other day with a great new haircut from Aveda, so I thought I'd try it out.

I must say that I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my hair.
It takes a lot for me to trust someone and touch my hair (as it's got a life of its own).
The prices they were running and the experience my sister had were what sold me.

Instagram January Recap

It's a new year, which means change is to come.
Really excited for this year and upcoming projects.

Lots more of Cool Atlanta exploring and posts soon.

(thank you for your patience while I've been away for a bit)
