D.I.Y. No. 2: Mason Jar SNOW GLOBES

This is definitely a gift that everyone is receiving this year. Anthropologie is selling snow globes that are almost identical to these for a whopping $40. I knew it was possible to make them for cheaper. So, I did just that.

Holiday Gift Guide: For the Giver

1. Chicken in Love record - Amazon.com // $8.99. Be kind this holiday season and support another city with this album. With artists like Fiona Apple, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and She & Him, some pretty stellar tunes exist.
CHARITY: 826LA (dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write)

2. Feed 2 Bag - Feedprojects.com // $130. I've always loved these bags. Not only are they for a charitable cause, but they are also a useful size and shape. What an easy way to get the word out as a walking advertisement.
CHARITY: FEED Foundation (dedicated to supporting programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition throughout the world)

3. Case of Water - Peoplewater.com // $22.99. Ok, so I know water sounds like a pretty boring holiday gift BUT this is not your ordinary water. With each eco-friendly bottle you are saving a life - I'd say that's a pretty reasonable present.
CHARITY: People Water (for every bottle purchased People Water will give an equal amount of clean water to a person in need)

Holiday Gift Guide : For the Host / Hostess

1. Color Block Coffee Maker - Anthropologie (Lenox Square / Westside) $38. This coffee maker was my life in Italy. It truly produces the most authentic cup of coffee - or shot of espresso - whichever you prefer. Not only is it super simple and quick, but it makes up to 6 shots.

2. Alyson Fox Triangles Pillow Cover - West Elm (Atlantic Station) $34. What a gem for a home. There are so many lovable things at West Elm, but this unique and fun pillow is such a great buy. I often get tired of the same, typical host/hostess gifts, so what a different way to say thanks.

3. Artichoke Lemon Pesto - Bella Cucina (Virginia Highlands) $12 . As seen here, Bella Cucina is an amazing little shop of foods and houseware goods. But, this pesto is to die for. It is a guarantee that the host or hostess that receives this will be thanking you for weeks.
