Just when you thought that there was nothing better than a free-standing hot dog stand on a summer day, think again.
HD1 (Haute Doggery + Bar) is the spot for all things hot dog (meat eater or not).
I was a bit skeptical as I thought how much better can you do than a man who's been serving up hot dogs on the side of the road for 20+ years.
I was quickly mistaken after my first look at the HD1 menu - much better can be done.
The menu is innovative, unique and mouth watering (see below).
Truly a perfect summer combo - a cold can of craft beer, a dog and a basket of waffle fries (and not just any waffle fries)
A Southerner's dream.
Flavor and deliciousness in each bite.
Who says a vegetarian can't have a chili dog?
Add a little walnut mayo and fried shallot rings - taking it to the next level.
These fries deserve their own post.
Think sweet and spicy topped on crispy Chick-Fil-A fries.
Maple-Oy = maple syrup + chili + heaven.
DO NOT MISS THESE!
HD1 has a dark, modern bar feel.
The vibe is alright and for a Friday night, a bit slow.
Surprised to see the crowd was small.
(Rumor has it its sister restaurant FlipBurger will be taking its place)
Hoping the supposed plans of a roof top bar will bring in more traffic.
The craft beer can options were impressive.
Let's just get a few craft beers on tap that are not served in cans.
Overall, HD1 is an awesome spot - for food, price and service.
It's definitely worth trying out for any and all hot dog lovers.
